Food offering to monks
It’s long been a Thai tradition to ‘make merit’ with offerings of food to local monks. Each morning, between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. (good weather and tides permitting) monks from nearby temples pass in front of the resort on their morning rounds. ‘Making merit’ is a great way to celebrate any special occasion or simply to show gratitude for good fortune.

Our beachside culinary academy starts with a refreshing Lemon Grass Iced Tea, and continues with four essential Thai recipes with live demonstrations, hands on cooking experience, an introduction to essential Thai herbs, a souvenir certificate and of course, the chance to savour your own creations by the beach.
Lotus Flower Folding
Lotus flower folding is an ancient Thai art that uses lotus blossoms to create beautiful floral art. The practice began as a way to signal respect to Buddha and Buddhist monks and Thai’s believe that it brings good fortune. In Temples and in people’s homes you’ll see lotus flowers used to beautify and sanctify Buddhist shrines and artifacts.
